This historic building which used to serve as barracks and has been turned into 1898 Loft Hotel has a rich history. The barracks were built in tsarist times and during the World War I they were occupied by the German troops. When Poland regained the independence, 2nd Grochowski Lancers Regiment was stationed in the barracks. During the interwar period, the lancers became a part of the community and they actively participated in a local life, giving it a specific character. Today, we recall those memories during the annual Cavalry Picnic.
